The SERENATA COLOMBIANA Chamber Orchestra

 

Founded in 2008, the “Fundación Orquesta Sinfónica de Bogota” (FOSBO) had been performing numerous concerts under the direction of different chief directors, nationals and internationals such as: Boguslaw Dawidow, Ruben Silva, Uros Lajovic, Miguel Meissner, Zbigniew Zajac, Piotr Wajrak among others. The recent years by the hand of the Fine Arts Theatre of Bogotá has successfully bring programs and projects as has been: Beethoven Season 2011, in which were played the 9 symphonies, Ballet Seasons 2008, 2009, 2010, Opera Seasons, Zarzuela Seasons 2010 and 2011, The New Year’s Eve Concert with its four editions broadcasted by City Tv channel. Among other projects performed there is the novel concert called “Music and Brain” presented in the Art and Science Festival at Museum Maloka and the “San Andres and Providence Tour 2012”.

 

The recent years FOSBO has constituted different chamber groups formed by members of the orchestra. One of the most featured project is the strings orchestra “The Colombian Serenade” which has been formed for rescue and introduce academic and folkloric Colombian repertory. “The Colombian Serenade” is formed by 15 representative members of the string section from the orchestra, most of them contest winners and participants of several festivals.

 

The string orchestra has presented their repertoire in different venues around Bogotá such as: “Leon de Greiff Auditorium at National University of Colombia”, “Fabio Lozano Auditorium at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University”. Recently performed a specialized concert in contemporary Polish music for the celebration of the change of presidency in the European Union.
