Łukasz Chrzęszczyk

 

was born in Kielce, Poland, in 1990. He started his musical training at the age of 6 in Ludomir Różycki State Music School in Kielce. In 2009 he got in as the best applicant to the Frederic Chopin University of Music, where he currently studies in the class of piano of professor Piotr Paleczny and the class of chamber music of professor Maja Nosowska.

Łukasz is laureate of numerous prizes of national and international piano and chamber music competitions, including inter alia:

 

  • 2nd Mauritz Moszkowski Piano Competition in Kielce (3rd prize)
  • 16th International Johann Sebastian Bach Piano Competition in Gorzów Wielkopolski (3rd prize)
  • 6th International European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA) Piano Competition in Cracow (3rd prize and Piotr Paleczny special award)
  • 43rd Polish Chopin Piano Competition by Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw (6th prize)
  • 9th All-Poland Piano Duo Competition in Toruń (2nd prize)
  • 18th International Accordion Music Competition in Przemyśl – 1st prize in chamber music category with Mumuki Quintet
  • 1st All-Poland Competition for Duos with Piano – 3rd prize with saxophonist Aleksandra Mańkowska and 1st Prize, President of the Republic of Poland Special Award and Polish Radio Special Award with Marta Kowalczyk.

 

Łukasz, as a soloist as well as a chamber musician, held concerts in many cities in Poland, as also in Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Ukraine and Finland. He performed with his home Kielce Philfarmonic Orchestra, Rzeszów Philharmonic Orchestra, Swiss Youth Orchestra “Il mosaico”, Chopin University Orchestra conducted by excellent directors: Hermann Ostendarp, Wojciech Rodek, Monika Wolińska, Tomasz Chmiel, Jacek Rogala. He is also a holder of scholarships granted by President of the City of Kielce, Rector of the Frederic Chopin University of Music, Theodore Leschetizky foundation.
