Piotr Olesz

 

a 15-year-old cellist who has been studying for 8 years in Feliks Nowowiejski General Primary and Secondary Music School in Gdansk under the direction of Mrs. Jadwiga Ewald. From an early age he was very interested in music. He was motivated to broaden his instrumental skills at numerous competitions, including international ones, e.g.: 1st Prize at the International Bohdan Warchal Competition (Talents for Europe) in the cello category in Dolný Kubín, Slovakia (2016 and 2018); 2nd Prize at the 13th International Young Virtuosos Competition in Sofia, Bulgaria (2017); 1st Prize at the 12th and 14th International Jan Vychytil Cello Competition in Prague, Czechia (2018 and 2020); 3rd (2019) and 1st (2021) Prize at the International String Instruments Competition in Elbląg, Poland ; 1st Prize in the National Cello Competition in Wrocław, Poland (2019); finalist in the 1st Anna Kull International Cello Competition in Graz, Austria (2020); 1st place in the OPUS 2021 International Music Competition in Kraków, Poland.

 

He has perfected his technique at various cello courses, among others in the classes of professors: Kazimierz Michalik, Stanisław Firlej, Marcin Zdunik, Rafał Kwiatkowski and many others.
