Eloy Panizo Padrón

 

Eloy Panizo Padrón began studying trombone with José Francisco Abellán at the Patronato Insular de Música de El Hierro (Spain). He continued his education at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Tenerife under José Antonio Cubas and Deanna Dee Decker. He graduated from Codarts Rotterdam Conservatorium (the Netherlands) with a Bachelor of Music having studied with Jörgen van Rijen, Pierre Volders, and George Wiegel. He then earned an Artist Diploma from the Colburn School Conservatory of Music (United States) guided by Mark Lawrence and completed his Master of Trombone Performance at Karol Lipiński Academy of Music, in Wroclaw, under the tutelage of Tomasz Hajda.

 

During his formative years, Eloy served as a member of the Joven Orquesta de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife (Spain), the Nationaal Jeugdorkest (the Netherlands), The Colburn Orchestra, the American Youth Symphony, and was an Associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago (United States). He has given solo recitals in Spain, the Netherlands, the United States, and Poland. Eloy was honored as a finalist at the 2004 International Trombone Festival, Gagliardi Competition, celebrated in Ithaca, New York, and was a part of the Rotterdam Conservatory Trombone Choir, which won the Emory Remington Competition, in New Orleans, in 2005. He recorded the album 6.35 prior to a Japanese tour with the International Trombone Ensemble, in 2008, and is a founding member of the trombone octet, TromboSphere Poland.

 

Mr Panizo has extensive international orchestral experience having appeared at the Festival de Música de Canarias (Spain), Music Academy of the West (United States), and Wratislava Cantans (Poland), and has performed and recorded with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife (Spain), the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria (Spain), the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (the Netherlands). From 2005 to 2008 he served as Principal Trombone of Holland Symfonia, Ballet and Symphony Orchestra, in Amsterdam. In 2012, he was Acting Principal Trombone of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (Canada) and is currently Principal Trombone of the NFM Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra (Poland), a position he has held since 2014.

 

In addition to being an active performer, Eloy Panizo Padrón is a passionate educator. He has mentored low brass players at the NFM Orchestra Academy, the International Lutoslawski Youth Orchestra, and the Joven Orquesta de Canarias. He has given Masterclasses at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Tenerife (Spain) and Zywieckie Suwakowanie (Poland), and has been teaching Orchestral Studies at Karol Lipiński Academy of Music, in Wroclaw, since 2016.
