Jakub Waszczeniuk

 

comes from Dębno. He graduated with honours from the Secondary Music School in Gorzów in the trumpet class of Włodzimierz Kozłowski. He is a graduate of the trumpet class of Professor Igor Cecocho (Wrocław). In 2005, as a fourth-year student, he joined the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, where he holds the position of first trumpet soloist. Since then, he has played almost a thousand concerts with Sinfonia Varsovia, performing in some of the world’s most prestigious halls.

 

He has also given numerous concerts as soloist with Sinfonia Varsovia, the Łódź, Poznań, Silesia, Kielce, Gorzów and Lower Silesia Philharmonic Orchestras, among others. In July 2006 he performed as soloist at the inaugural concert of the festival Chopin and his Europe. Together with Martha Argerich and the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra conducted by Alexander Rabinowich-Barakowsky, he performed then Shostakovich’s Second Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and String Orchestra, Op. 35, from which a CD was released.

 

He has collaborated with many orchestras including: Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Aukso, Leopoldinum, Lodz and Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestras or Beethoven Academy Orchestra.

 

He conducts master classes (e.g. ZAM Lusławice, Summer Music Tours Wadowice) and webinars. The artist is also involved in many ensembles, such as “Symphonic Queen”, Sinfonia Varsovia Brass and Polish Brass Quintet.

 

In addition to classical music, the artist also performs popular music. He collaborates with the entertainment orchestras of Zygmunt Kukla, Tomek Szymus, Grzegorz Urban, Daniel Nosewicz and Krzysztof Herdzin. He takes part in many TV productions such as the KFPP Opole, Top Of The Top Sopot or Dancing With The Stars festivals. He has made recordings for such artists as: Zbigniew Wodecki, Ania Szarmach, Maryla Rodowicz, Piotr Rubik, Robert Gawliński, Krzysztof Herdzin as well as several credits for TV programmes (e.g. 997). He teaches the trumpet class at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music as an assistant professor.
