Nika Lubowicz

 

comes from Zakopane. She graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, from the Department of Choir Conducting and the Department of Piano. She also graduated from the Post-Secondary School of Jazz “Bednarska” in Warsaw, from the Department of Jazz Vocal. She has performed on stage since the age of six and has been a winner of many national and international vocal competitions. She cooperates with such Polish jazz musicians as e.g. Andrzej Jagodziński, Wojciech Pulcyn, Marcin Ułanowski, Ryszard Borowski, as well as with bands: Akwarium Big Band and Atom String Quartet. She took part in such festivals as: Zakopane Jazz Spring, Lotos Jazz Festival (Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa), Old Jazz Meeting „Złota Tarka” in Iława, Song and Film Ballad Festival in Toruń, “Landscape Without You” Festival in Bydgoszcz and many others. She seeks inspirations in various music genres and is interested in every worthwhile music.

 

Her most important recent achievements are:

  • 2nd Prize in “Hot Jazz Spring Festival – Swingujący Kruk” in Częstochowa (2012)
  • Special Prize of Polish Minister of Culture in “Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa” Festival (2011)
  • Award of distinction in Agnieszka Osiecka Song Festival in Warsaw (2011)
  • 3rd Prize in Film Song and Ballad Festival in Toruń (2011)
  • Grand Prix in “Złota Tarka” Festival and the Festival’s Artistic Manager’s Award (Iława 2010)
  • 1st Prize in the International Meeting of Jazz Vocalists in Zamość (2009)
  • 2nd Prize in the National Jazz Standards Festival in Siedlce (2009)
  • 3rd Prize in Novum Jazz Festival in Łomża (2009)
  • The Individual Prize in the International Crocus Jazz Festival (2008)
