Robert Kubiszyn

 

Acoustic and electric bass player, composer and producer. Born in Cracow, Poland.

 

Robert is one of the most versatile and in-demand bassist on the polish scene. He is well known for his talents on both the acoustic and the electric bass guitar. He has performed as a session musician and sideman throughout his career, with a large list of polish and worldwide artists with whom he has worked from jazz to pop. He graduated from the Academy of Jazz Music in Katowice, Poland in double bass music performance under Prof. Jacek Niedziela, a renowned jazz bassist.

 

His discography is over 100 long play albums recorded with various artist.

 

Robert recent collaborations in the studio and on the stage include such prominent artists as: Anna Maria Jopek, Gregoire Maret 4tet (feat. Federico Gonzalez Pena, John Beasley, Jon Cowherd, Clarence Penn, Magnus Ostrom, Kendrick Scott), Michael “Patches” Stewart, Grzegorz Turnau, Henryk Miskiewicz, Krzysztof Herdzin, Marek Napiórkowski.

 

Robert also worked with many other great musicians such as: Mino Cinelu, Dean Brown, Gary Husband, Jon Herrington, Adam Pieronczyk, Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Stańko, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Maria Schneider with Krzysztof Herdzin orchestra, Krzysztof Zawadzki, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Urszula Dudziak, Michał Urbaniak.

 

He also did many projects with Anna Maria Jopek with Pat Metheny, Makoto Ozone,Gonzalo Rubalcaba,Oscar Castroneves, Richard Bona, Dhafer Youssef, Gil Goldstein.

 

Robert also produces and arranges for other artists. His most prominent engagements were to produce the newest album of an American trumpeter Michael Patches Stewart – “On Fire” feature artists: Kenny Garett, George Duke, Raul Midon, Poogie Bell,Paul Jackson Jr. and others.

 

He also co-produced four albums for Universal Music called “Nap”, “Wolno” (gold record), “KonKubiNap” and “Up!” of polish jazz guitar phenomenon Marek Napiórkowski.

 

Robert’s first solo album “Before Sunrise” was released on November 5th, 2010 by Proa Records and Universal Music. The album was nomitated in fourth categories in the prestigious polish music awards: “Fryderyk” and finally got for “The Best Jazz Debut”.
