Filip Wojciechowski

 

is one of the few musicians whose artistic career includes both jazz and classical music. He is a graduate of the Music Academy in Warsaw, where he studied with Professor Bronisława Kawalla and won many awards at prestigious piano competitions including the Claude Kahn Competition in Paris and especial award at the XIII International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (1995).

 

Pianist has given recitals throughout Europe, America and Asia at such renowned venues as the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Tokyo International Forum and the Opera House in Monte Carlo. Among his artistic achievements are numerous recordings for Polish Radio and Television as well as recording companies.

 

The Filip Wojciechowski Trio has been honoured with many awards not only in its native Poland where it received 1st prize at the Jazz Juniors Competition in Krakow, but also at the 9th Jazz Competiton in Leverkusen and the Europen Jazz Contest in Hoeilart-Belgium.

 

The Trio has appeared at renowned music festivals including the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad in Switzerland, 10th Europen International Festival in Athens, 14th Music Festival OldenburgerPromenade and the 60th International Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdrój. Filip Wojciechowski Trio has been distinguished for its performances of the classical repertoire in a jazz style. This has resulted in his records, such as “Classic Jazz” for German company with his own adaptations of classical works, and “Romantic Meets Jazz” for polish company Dux with Robert Majewski as guest trumpeter. In the year 2010 Polish Radio released new recording of Filip Wojciechowski Trio – “Chopin”. Filip Wojciechowski also performed in Gary Guthman Quartet, Zbigniew Namysłowski Quartet and also with Richard Galliano and Krzesimir Dębski.
