Paweł Janas

 

In 2012, he graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of accordion of Prof. Jerzy Jurek and Prof. Klaudiusz Baran. During the academic year 2011/2012 he was admitted to the Socrates-Erasmus programme and continued his studies in the class of Prof. Grzegorz Stopa in Konservatorium Wien Privatunversität.

 

He took part in numerous master courses, working under the direction of such tutors as Włodzimierz Lech Puchnowski, Alexander Selivanov, Alfred Melichar, Yuri Shishkin, Owen Murray, Claudio Jacomucci, Matti Raantanen, Inaaki Alberdi, Stefan Hussong.

 

He is laureate of competitions, including:

  • 1st prize and special prize for the best interpretation work by A. Krzanowski "Study IV" at the IV Andrzej Krzanowski National Accordion Competition in Czechowice Dziedzice (Poland – 2012)
  • 1st prize in XIV International Accordion Competition Carlo Civardi in Val Tidone (Italy – 2011)
  • 2nd prize in International Accordion Competition in Vilnius (Lithuania – 2011)
  • 1st prize in 63 International Accordion Competition Coupe Mondiale in Varazdin (Croatia – 2010)
  • 1st prize in X National Accordion Competition in Szczecin (Poland – 2009)
  • 1st prize in XVIII International Accordion Competition in Przemyśl (Poland – 2009)
  • 1st prize in XII Music Festival Jeunes Talents in Montrond les Bains (France – 2009)
  • 2nd prize in 46 International Accordion Competition Klingenthal (Germany – 2009)

 

He was semi-finalist in the 64th Coupe Mondiale Accordion Competition in Shanghai (2011). The laureate of International Competition of Digital Accordion in Rome in 2012. He was awarded a distinction in the “Talents’ Week” National Festival of Music Competition Laureates in Kąśna Dolna in Paderewski Center (Poland) and the International Festival of Young Music Competition Laureates organised by “Silesia”.

 

He has performed among others as a soloist with the Polish National Philharmonic Orchestra, in Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome, the Presidential Palace, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Polish Radio Studios in Warsaw and Katowice and abroad (in Croatia, Italy, Lithuania, France, Spain, China, Austria, Germany, the Ukraine). He took part in the concert tour of OFAM (Open Philharmonic of the Musical Safety Pin) organised by the foundation J&S Pro Bono Poloniae. Twice he represented Polandat the Electronic Music Festival RolandVAccordion in Rome.

 

In 2012, together with Maciej Frackiewicz recorded CD sponsored by Societe Generale bank where find works by Igor Stravinsky, Edvard Grieg and the young composer Ignacy Zalewski.

 

An important element of his artistic life is cooperation with young composers, such as: Zbigniew Baginski, Dariusz Przybylski, Wojciech Blecharz, Tomasz Jakub Opałka, Ignacy Zalewski, Mikołaj Majkusiak, Rafal Janiak.

 

He performed at numerous festivals, including Alkagran, Wawer Music Festival, Warsaw Music Encounters “Early Music – New Music”, Masters Evenings in Kąśna Dolna, Royal Arcades of Art, Warsaw Autumn Festival.

 

He has been awarded scholarships: by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, including the “Młoda Polska” scholarship, by the capital city of Warsaw, “Agrafka Muzyczna” (“Musical Safety Pin”) scholarship by the Foundation J&S Pro Bono Poloniae, by Dongsan Research Foundation and Pro Polonia Society, by the National Culture Centre, and by Societe Generale bank.

 

He play on the Italian instrument Bugari Bayan Selecta taken at the special request and Roland digital accordion FR7-xb.
